Worshipping An Imaginary Man In The Sky

I was thinking about the impossibility of human evolution by natural selection, which is based on chance interacting with various natural processes that have the effect of selecting those 'chances' that are retained and those that are lost. I won't elaborate too much because most of us who are interested in this subject have already given it a lot of thought and understand the concept. It is however important to note that the idea, simple in itself, is used to explain massively complex transformations for which no viable mechanism has ever been proposed, via the obfuscating factor of billions of years. "He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."  Eccl 3:11 It is simple enough to imagine that a fish spawned with a mutant gene that resulted in a slightly modified eye shape and which gave it an increased vision range, making it more

The Lord of the Harvest

I happened to see the image of a mosque with a crescent symbol atop its spire. But then I was reminded of something written in the Book of Revelation. It describes an event that is very closely related to the wrath of God. There is a figure involved which seems very special and yet mysterious since he is described as, "one like unto the Son of man". This one is never called an angel but in addition to the above we are told that: (1) he sits upon a cloud (2) he has a golden crown upon his head (3) he has a sharp sickle It is very unusual that he is not called an angel but rather referred to according to his characteristics, above. It is unusual because there are three others also involved in the harvesting activity of the immediate context which are called angels. Why is this figure not called such? It sounds like the Lord in Daniel 7:13, yet can it be since this figure receives instructions from an angel? I can't imagine the Lord, who is One with His Father, being

Signs and Lying Wonders

It is a fact that the antichrist is coming (1 John 2:18); furthermore, we are told that his coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved (2 Thess 2:9-10). Now I looked up this word "after" in Greek and found that it is not 'after' in the temporal sense but in the sense of 'according to', or 'following the pattern of'/'in keeping with'. This is very helpful because it means that if we know Satan's devices, as the Apostle Paul reminds us that we  do (2 Cor 2:11), then we will recognize the manner of the coming of the antichrist as being of Satan. This can help us greatly to not be deceived. The word translated "after" can also mean 'throughout' or 'during' so we also have a secondary sense of time. In other words, I think it is true that
